Offers telephone support and counselling to any Queenslander who has, or thinks they may have been sexually assaulted or abused. It is also for those who are concerned someone they care about might have been assaulted or abused.

Elder Abuse Helpline 1300 651 192

A first port-of-call for support, referral and information. The helpline provides free assistance to anyone who experiences, witnesses or suspects the abuse of an older person by someone they know and trust. 

Also, the Queensland Government lists counselling and support groups for women and support services for abused elders.

DVConnect 1800 811 811

DVConnect is a 24-hour statewide domestic violence hotline that offers free, professional assistance such as counselling, intervention, transport and emergency accommodation for people in danger from a violent partner or family member.

Women’s shelters (sometimes called ‘refuges’) provide safe and secure accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence in their homes or community. Placement in a shelter can be arranged by contacting DVConnect Womensline on 1800 811 811.

Emergency accommodation

Access a list of organisations that can provide you with information about emergency accommodation if you are homeless, escaping violence or need a meal, shower and clothing.

The list includes the Homeless Hotline (1800 474 753), a phone information and referral service for people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
